Frequently asked questions
What sets you apart from other law firms?
For over 25 years, our firm has been at the forefront of the Dutch criminal defence profession. We are the largest law firm in the Netherlands solely dedicated to criminal cases.
We have a team of experienced and specialist lawyers, in almost all fields of criminal law. Knowledge is shared and frequent consultation among colleagues is standing practice. On a case by case basis, the right lawyer is selected to best serve your interests, but through these internal consultations the other lawyers will de facto also advise on how to best handle and resolve your case.
Where necessary, a team of lawyers can be in place within minutes, to assist during searches, arrests and interviews. No other law firm can offer you such vast knowledge and experience and the opportunity to access these on such a large scale.
What types of cases do you take?
Criminal law-related cases only, but in the broadest sense of the word. Apart from acting as defence counsel in criminal cases, our lawyers are well-versed in extradition, surrender and asset recovery proceedings.
We are also experienced in summary criminal proceedings and administrative proceedings related to criminal law, such as cases involving driving licenses, certificates of good conduct, authority cards (‘grey passes’) for security personnel and Traffic Regulations (Administrative Enforcement) Act-related fines.
When necessary, we will join forces with specialists in other fields of law.
Do you also take on cases on a Legal Aid basis?
Depending on the nature and scope of the case, some of our lawyers will indeed act for you on a Legal Aid basis. Feel free to contact us for further information.
Do you only take on cases local to The Hague or Rotterdam?
No. Our firm has offices in The Hague and Rotterdam, but handles cases throughout the Netherlands. And because of their specialist knowledge, our lawyers will also act as experts in complex cases before foreign courts.
Do you offer a free intake?
Depending on the circumstances, the first consultation may be free of charge. For further information, please contact the lawyer you wish to meet with.
