About Marjorie Drees
Marjorie advises and provides legal assistance to both individuals and companies in criminal law matters and proceedings, with a particular focus on financial-economic criminal law and environmental criminal law. She advises companies, directors and employees, and represents them at the various stages of criminal investigations and proceedings. In addition, she represents individuals in general criminal matters. Marjorie joined Sjöcrona Van Stigt as a lawyer in November 2025 and works from the firm’s Rotterdam office.
Education and career
In 2020, Marjorie completed her Master of Laws at the University of Groningen, specializing in criminal law and civil law. During her studies, she worked as a court clerk at the district court and spent a semester studying at the Florida State University College of Law in Tallahassee, United States.
After graduating, Marjorie worked for four years at the National Office for Serious Fraud, Environmental Crime and Asset Confiscation of the Public Prosecution Service. There, she was involved in large-scale and complex (inter)national investigations in the field of financial-economic criminal law and environmental criminal law, including corruption, money laundering, violations of sanctions legislation, and fatal work place accidents. She subsequently worked on a temporary basis as a paralegal at Wladimiroff Advocaten in The Hague.
