As the opening activity of the Criminal Law Day organised by the Meesterweek Foundation, Sophie Stevens and Jessie Donze gave a workshop on witness examinations. Enthusiastic students were first introduced to the theoretical framework for hearing witnesses before the examining magistrate. They then applied this knowledge in practice: based on a realistic case, the students took part in a role-play, in which they played the role of a lawyer conducting a witness examination before the examining magistrate. This interactive and practical approach offered participants valuable insight into the role and work of a criminal lawyer.
