About Linda van der Hut

Linda van der Hut handles larger economic and general criminal cases, with an emphasis on fraud cases, environmental criminal law, Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Prevention Act, (fatal) industrial accidents and cases involving notaries, lawyers and medical institutions. As a member of a special team of
lawyers that assist the Dutch National Police, Linda further has extensive experience in providing legal assistance to investigating officers who come into contact with criminal law. Linda also specialises in complaint proceedings against a decision not to prosecute under Art. 12 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (both on the side of the accused and the complainant) and various special chambers proceedings, such as those against the seizure of documents and data carriers by the Public Prosecution Service under Art. 552a Sv, including in matters involving the professional privilege. In conclusion, Linda is a specialist in handling cassation cases before the Supreme Court of the Netherlands.

Education and career

In 2007, Linda graduated in criminal law and criminal procedure from Leiden University. During her studies, she gained experience as a legal adviser at the Leiden legal advice centre. She also worked as a court clerk at the criminal sector of the Court of Appeal of The Hague, where she continued to work after graduation until she became a lawyer at our firm.

In addition to her work as a lawyer, Linda is an active (committee) member of the Association of Cassation Cases in Criminal Cases (VCAS) and provides courses as part of the continuing education of lawyers, the training of compliance officers and postgraduate education for lawyers. For instance, she writes several course programmes on property crime accredited by the Dutch Bar Association and has conducted webinars for a variety of bodies. Moreover, she regularly gives lectures for (societies of) notaries and compliance officers. Finally, Linda has been an editor of the Sanctions Law & Company Magazine for many years.

Linda van der Hut is registered in the Register of Jurisdictions of the Netherlands Bar as a specialist in Criminal Law. This specialism includes:

  • Financial economic criminal law
  • Environmental criminal law
  • Fiscal criminal law
  • Extradition and surrender cases

In addition, she is registered as a specialist Cassation (criminal).

Linda obtains a minimum of ten training points in these specialisations every calendar year according to the standards of the Netherlands Bar.
